Background Story
It appears that Agostine has a great project. He plans to carry out his master piece, a real artwork: a new dream dress. But his sewing skills are limited. He needs the help from someone who excels at hand-sewing, for he is more adept at fine fancywork. Luckily, there is one in the Argaes, and you have already met her. Unfortunately she has a rivalry-based jealously against Agostine. Will you be able to make them cooperate and forget their long held resentments? The effort will be well worth the reward.

Walkthrough
You need to be at least level 60, and to have completed both Agostine The Tailor, and Lora Tay The Legendary Seamstress quests, to complete this one. Although the steps to work through this quest are rather straightforward, you may have to muster up some patience while grinding for the necessary items, which you will have to hand over to our two favorite dressmakers. This spoiler is mainly here as a reference.

What To Do:
* From Nivalis' soul menhir, head north-west to the upper part of the village. the first house you meet is Agostine's workshop. Enter and talk with him. If you are level 60, he will speak about the problems he has with a "wonderful fashion". Of course you tell him about Lora Tay in Dimond's Cove. Though "he had almost forgotten about her" and that "she tried to put him out of business" he seems ready to collaborate with her. You will of course go and see Lora Tay for him.
* When you are with Lora Tay, tell her that you have a proposal. When she knows it comes from Agostine, she will be reactionary and mutter against him a bit and wonder if you are joking. But you say you are serious. And as she is curious, she will ask you to get more information.
* Return to Agostine. He will tell you that he saw the dress in a dream, and takes you into his confidence by admitting that he lacks sufficient skill to make it by himself. Then he gives you some bundles of fine luxurious cloth to bring to Lora Tay.
* Go back to Lora. Tell her about the dream and give her the items. She is quite impressed by the quality of these materials, but needs some more to fix Agostine's sewing of the edges.
* Give her the required 180 Silk Cocoons. But to be able to sew, Lora Tay needs to see the patterns and Agostine didn't give you even a copy of them; you have to travel again!
* After your journey to Agostine, return to Lora and give her the drawings of the design for the dress. Now Lora Tay needs some time and quietness to work. You must leave her and go outside of Dimond's Inn (Some fresh air will not harm you).
* Return to Lora. The result is great, but she cannot finish the white flare designs on the bottom of the dress herself, but acknowledges Agostine's ability to do so.
* Travel again to Nivalis, for it is time to finish the masterpiece. Agostine will accomplish the bottom edge with cotton work, but naturally, more materials are needed.
* Give 20 Cotton Cloths to Agostine so he can finish the work.
* He proposes you now to be his ambassador and wear the dress, but you have to pay your contribution: 20,000 GP.
*If you agree to his deal, you get one Fine Dress. See below for the available colors you can have Selim make your prize, if you have the dye.

Hints
* You can find silk worms in many areas, but the best one is definitely in the south-western part of East swamp (the one with no mist).
* Grass snakes have a very high cotton cloth drop rate, as long as you are fast, strong and quick enough. Also, if you are magical, you can get Mouboos to drop a few for you.

Silk Cocoon is dropped by:

* Silk Worm (50%)
* Butterfly (10%)

Cotton Cloth is dropped by:

* Mouboo (5%)
* Grass Snake (16%)

Rewards:

* 1 Fine Dress (Nicknamed: Agostine's Dream Dress) Defense +8, Magic Attack +3, 35g.

The Soul Menhirs are monolithic stones that summon and revive the battle-fallen. The stone does not seem to recover natural deaths. Although the nature of the Menhirs' selection is unclear, not everybody who touches the stone can survive death. The chosen receive a scar called the Mark of Menhir. Each time a marked one is summoned by a Menhir to the Afterlife, they receive another scar. The process is extremely painful, and the scars are said to leave a "constant discomfort", but they can be removed.

Lore
Discovery
Believed to have been created as a result of the Great Quake, Soul Menhir stones have been discovered in the mountains of Tonori, Argaes, Kaizei, and even the hills of Tempus. Many of the stones were placed in major cities, while an undisclosed number are kept among the private sector.

The discoverer of the first Soul Menhir brought it down from the mountain and sold it to the city of Tulimshar. None knew of the power this menhir held, as it was sold for about 1/100th the current Soul Menhir value, and was used as decorative ambiance and a nighttime light source. People gathered to feel the uplifting energy emitted from the stone. It wasn't long before a group of hunters, who had been brutally killed miles away, reappeared at the stone with stories of a Dark Figure. The line to touch the stone grew to the thousands, and a new rush of miners headed into the mountains to find their own Soul Menhir. Many more were found and sold for fortunes. Miners who made their fortune from the sale of Soul Menhir stones are referred to by nobles as the "dirty elite".

Societal Effects
The existence of the Soul Menhirs has more than quadrupled the number of world adventurers and has resulted in a market flood of monster-related items. In addition, the numbers of hunters has greatly evolved near regions with a Soul Menhir since they can reappear not far from where they were hunting. These stones are a great boon to hunters and adventures alike: On the chance that you are slain or cut down by an unexpected blow, at least you can re-spawn in a place you like.

Game Play
By default, each character is set to be revived next to Sorfina located in the Tulimshar suburbs.. Clicking on a Soul Menhir and "touching" it attaches your character to that specific stone. The last stone touched is the location to which your character will be revived.

There are currently Soul Menhir stones in Tulimshar, Hurnscald and Nivalis.
Member of the Council of Transmuters, he is himself a great specialist of the Transmutation Magic. He will tell you the better way to advance in your magical practice and teach you concretely how Spells work. Auldsbel has profound knowledge of Magic and is a good first stop for anyone learning it.
Once you have progressed enough in your Magic Level and if you have helped him in some experiments, he will teach you some Spells, see the Magic Quests.
He is able to make a Mana Potion for you with the right ingredients which are 1 Pearl, 10,000 GP and 20 Mauve Herbs. Although Wyara uses a different and cheaper recipe.

He also knows how to transmute Piles of Ash into Sulphur Powders at a ratio of 1:5 for 250 GP. He will later teach you how to transmute it by yourself.
This is a how to help content development for official TMW-eA using Ubuntu and the Mana client. Other OS and clients may differ. Following this guide, you should be able to get development testing versions of the client data (tmwdata), server-data (eathena-data) and participate in development by using a localhost server. After getting these, you can both test current development and begin development in the direction you find most fitting.

Dependencies
In addition to the basic build tools (GCC, Make, headers, ...), Bison, and Flex are needed.

Debian derivates (including Ubuntu)
* Open a terminal.
* sudo apt-get install build-essential flex bison

Set Up Own Server
Here are the steps to use when creating a new local testing server.
* Open a terminal.
* mkdir ~/tmw-ea
* cd ~/tmw-ea/
* git clone git://gitorious.org/tmw-eathena/mainline.git eathena
* git clone --recursive git://github.com/themanaworld/tmwa-server-data.git eathena-data
* cd eathena/
* If you are running an older version of make: mkdir -p obj/{common,login,char,map,ladmin,tool}. Debian and Ubuntu, in particular are famous for still not having Make 3.82, which is a much more compliant implementation. If you are technically inclined, I recommend installing it in /usr/local. -o11c
* make
* sudo cp login-server char-server map-server ladmin /usr/local/bin/
* git config --global url.git@gitorious.org:.pushInsteadOf git://gitorious.org push once
* git config --global url.git@github.com:.pushInsteadOf git://github.com push once
* cd ../eathena-data
* Preferably, add the update hooks.
** ln -s ../../git/hooks/post-merge .git/hooks/
** ln -s ../../../git/hooks/post-merge client-data/.git/hooks/
* make conf
* cd client-data
* git checkout master
* cd music
* git checkout master

You can now launch your test server.
* Open a terminal.
* cd ~/tmw-ea/eathena-data/
* ./char-server& ./login-server& ./map-server&
* Open another terminal.
* mana --server localhost --port 6901 -u -d ~/tmw-ea/eathena-data/client-data
This should run all three of your servers and the client.

Make yourself a GM so you can test changes made.
See #Administration

See also: GM Commands

You are now free to do some changes, first close the client and your servers.

Notes for client data changes: 1) commit and push them in the client-data repo 2) commit and push "client-data" when it shows "(new commits)" in your server-data 3) commit and push other server data changes.
* Make your modifications (e.g. Change a map) and save them.
* Open a terminal.
* cd ~/tmw-ea/eathena-data/client-data
* git status
* git add [modified files]
* git commit
* git push push
* cd ..
* make maps (if you changed a map)
* git status
* git add [modified files]
* git add client-data (if git status shows (new commits). Don't do this if you don't have push access to client-data!)
* git commit
* git push push
* Close the terminal.

push : a step for those with commit access to the remote repositories. For others, you don't need to reconfigure your clone and please make a patch on steps where git push is suggested.

once : you only need to do this once, no matter how many times you independently clone the repositories.

*git format-patch -M -C origin/master
* pastebin the patch(es) and post for review at irc.themanaworld.org channel: #tmw-dev or on our development forums. Extensive patches must be posted on the forum as a series of well-formed patches with descriptive commit messages. In particular, later patches should not fix errors introduced in earlier patches, and each patch should form a logically independent part.

You can also pull the data which has been modified.
* Open a terminal.
* cd ~/tmw-ea/eathena-data
* git pull
* If you haven't installed the hook, git submodule update --merge at toplevel (for client-data) and in client-data (for music)
* Close the terminal.

See Also: README.mv.txt - Documentation on using git submodules, like client-data and tmw-music.

Administration
# Start the servers.
# Open a command line terminal.
# cd ~/tmw-ea/eathena-data/login
# ladmin (not ./ladmin)
# add username M password
# gm username 99

Connecting
# Open a command line terminal.
# Run your client pointing to your client data and your local server. E.g. mana -u -d ~/tmw-ea/tmwdata --server localhost --port 6901

If all goes well, you are now ready to test new content and participate with development.

Making Content
Making Map Content
Java Converter Tool
This has been my experience on running the java Converter tools, which takes map data from client-data and applies it to the server-data. The README addresses dependencies for using this tool. It suggests there are other ways it can work in the README, if this method does work for you.

Edit your map and save it. You can push the client data now. Now, you need to run the converter.
# cd ~/tmw-ea/eathena-data/
# make maps
After that, commit and push the files that the converter edited.

Getting Art Content Into The Game
* Post [CPT] or [WIP] art on the graphics development forum.
* Work with the Art Director and collaborators on getting the art consistent.
* When finished, edit topic as [FND].
* Art Director approves [FND] art and marks it [RC]. Should the art need animation or special effect, the Art Director requests xml for it. If not, the Art Director commits it and marks as [GIT].
* XML Team reviews or drafts xml related to the art, then commits the .png and .xml. Topic can be marked as [GIT].
::* Art content affected: client-data/graphics/sprites then related directory for .png and .xml animation addition.
* Project developer requests database entry reservations from a General Content Team developer.
::* Map entry server data affected: resnametable.txt and .wlk files in the data directory, map content files in the npc directory.
::* Map entry client data affected: .tmx files in the maps directory.
::* Map entry requires the running of the .tmx converter (aka java converter) before commits can be made.
::* Art content server data affected: entry made in the item_db.txt, mob_db.txt or mob_skills_db.txt in the db directory.
::* Art content client data affected: entry added in items.xml, monsters.xml or other identification file.

Handling General Content Team [REQ]s
* General Content Team member adds a [REQ] topic to the graphics development forum.
* General Content Team member adds the [REQ] topic as a hyperlink under "Required Art" on the Art in Development page.
* Art Director attempts to network with other artists to assign the art to an artist.

Bit Masking
Bit Masking helps us reduce our variable count while offering a dynamic method of script writing that is versatile and flexible to both linear and non-linear script writing.

# Go talk to Stewen. Stewen is at the entrance to the Eastern Desert, which is east of the Sandstorm.
# Next go back to Lieutenant Dausen again. Then go south-west to the mine and talk to Nickos.
# Then go back to Lieutenant Dausen and talk to him once more. He will then give you 500 GP!
# After talking to Lieutenant Dausen, go and see Nickos situated in front of the mine. He will give you permission to enter.
# Go in and talk to Nathan and Naem. Nathan is right near the entrance. Naem is southeast of the entrance.
# When Naem and Nathan will be satisfied, go out of the cave and talk to Nickos who will give you 500 GP.
# Once again, you will need to go and talk to Lieutenant Dausen and then to Nickos again.
# Go back in the cave and talk to Nathan, then walk back and forth between him and Naem many times to carry 3 bags of ore that doesn't show up in your inventory so be careful, read what they say at every moment. Don't worry, you will need to do only three back and forth between Nathan and Naem. You will receive a Miners Hat for your transporting.
# Go outside and talk to Nickos again. Then go back in the cave and kill Angry Scorpions until you get 10 Angry Scorpion Stingers.
# After you are done getting 10 Angry Scorpion Stingers, go talk to Nickos and collect a Leather Shield.
# Now go talk to Naem to get the barrier key. But guess what? He doesn't have the key! You need to go talk to Lieutenant Dausen again to have that key.
# The astute reader will notice buttons along the walls inside the mine. The mines must have the key inserted into them and have the key turned in the right direction and in the correct order in order to continue with the quest. The left Button: Turn the key right, the bottom right Button: Turn the key left and the top right Button: Turn the key left.
# Go down to the southeast of the cave so Naem can give you a pair of Miner Gloves.
# Talk to Sema. She tells you there is a chest somewhere that needs 3 treasure keys to unlock.
# Kill Archants until you get 3 keys then find the chest at the end of the cave and talk to the chest. Open it to receive a Short Bow (+50 Damage).
# Go back and talk to Sema. She will tell you there are a couple of Giant Maggots and asks you to kill one and bring back what it drops, which is an Iten. Kill the giant maggot, take the Iten and return to Sema to talk to her.
# Give the iten to Sema. She will give you a Desert Shirt (+6 Defense).
# You are now done with these quests in Tulimshar. You can continue this list of quests by talking to Lena located in Hurnscald and do the Bandit Quest.

Hints:

* Watch out for the monsters. All of the monsters in this cave are aggressive and move extremely fast. They will kill you while you're talking to people, so click and read fast.
* You'll notice after a while all the monsters will disappear but they will still be attacking you. This is because the number of monsters surrounding and trying to attack you lags the client so it can't display all the creatures. To resolve that problem, restart the game.
* You will need a bit of strengh to carry an Iten (8 kg).
* The Giant Cave Maggots are difficult to kill even at level 45, so ask some friends if you need help!
* Although, there are 2 Giant Cave Maggots. You only have to kill one of them to get the reward, which is a Desert Shirt (+6% defense), which is actually an alright reward (no giant maggots will show up unless you are actually doing this quest).
